Further up towards Ubud we will visit two villages famous for their art and handicrafts. The Celuk Village, famous for its traditional gold and silver smiths and Batuan Village a painter artist community selling their beautiful work in galleries along the road.
Beautiful and always breathtaking to see are the Tegalalang Rice Terraces. Located in the hills above Ubud you can witness the beauty of this green scenery and its panorama, watch rice farmers by their daily work and learn about the water irrigation system. We can have our lunch in one of the restaurants here or at our next stop in Ubud, 20 minutes away.
The Monkey Forest is a natural reserve and temple complex in Ubud and a sacred monkey sanctuary. The Ubud community keeps this forest in its naturally order to preserve the habitat for the monkeys (about 300 macaques) and the other tropical animals in this small rain forest.
Just in front of the palace is the Traditional Art Market of Ubud. Handicraft produced on Bali and all over Indonesia are sold here for relatively good prices. Bargain with the vendors is an Indonesian tradition and mostly a nice interaction with the vendors. Additionally to our standard tour program you can enjoy your dinner in one of Ubud's beautiful scenic located restaurants before heading back to your accommodation.
